🌱 Our Story
Howdy, I'm Jace!
I'm a veteran, a small business owner, and I run NordicGreens LLC here in Quakertown. I do things a little differently — let me tell you why.
It Started With a Problem
Like a lot of entrepreneurs, my story begins during the pandemic. I was sick, overweight, and battling PTSD. Worse yet, I had no idea where to start fixing any of it.
So I did what anyone would do — I went to Google. After weeks of weeding through scams and snake oil, I finally found an article that explained why losing weight felt impossible and why my anxiety was through the roof.
The answer? Nutrient deficiencies.
Okay, great. Now I had a plan. But here's the thing — and don't laugh — I don't like vegetables. Never have. So I went looking for a way to get maximum nutrients in a smaller, less... veggie-tasting package.
That's when I found microgreens.
165 Pounds Later...
Fast forward 18 months: I lost 165 pounds and felt amazing. People noticed. They wanted to try microgreens too. Then their friends wanted some. And their friends...
Next thing I knew, I was a commercial grower. (I use that term loosely — my first "facility" was a 7'x7' DIY room in my garage with a used space heater and questionably insulated. But hey, it worked.)
The Setback
Things were going well — until they weren't.
Long story short: I tried to sell the business when I was planning to move. The person I trusted stole my equipment, couldn't grow or supply my customers, and blamed me for it.
It sucked. But I'm not here to dwell on thieves — I'm here to build an empire.
The Comeback
I partnered with Collin Kelly from Radical Estate Services LLC and Radical's Rage Rooms, who funded the entire new operation.
We're talking a fully custom, state-of-the-art grow space inside a 20' shipping container:
- Dual chamber setup
- Closed-cell insulation (no mold, consistent temps year-round)
- Top-of-the-line HVAC mini split
- Custom-built shelves
- Target-specific LED lighting
This comeback? It's built different.
Where We Are Now
My biggest goal this time around was to launch a subscription service — a way to get fresh, nutrient-packed greens to my regulars at a lower cost, on a schedule that works for them. It's up and running, and every week I'm adding new faces to this growing community.
You'll find us at local farmers markets (follow us on Facebook for the latest schedule — I update there way more than this site). You might also catch me around town doing landscaping, 3D printing custom car parts, or volunteering at the food bank.
I stay busy. I love what I do. And I refuse to work a 9-5.
Thanks for Reading
There's a lot more to our story than fits on one page. But at the end of the day, we care about one thing: quality — whether it's food or anything else we create.
NordicGreens is a family business. You'll regularly see my kids and wife with me at the markets.
Stop by and say hi. We'd love to meet you. 🥦
