About microgreens
What are microgreens?
Microgreens are young vegetable plants harvested about 9–12 days after Planting. They’re known for concentrated flavor, vibrant color, and nutrient density.
What’s the difference between microgreens and sprouts?
Sprouts are eaten very early (often 3–5 days) and typically include the seed and root. Microgreens are harvested later with developed cotyledon leaves and a stem, offering a more robust texture and flavor.
Are microgreens healthy?
Microgreens are widely valued as a nutrient-dense food. People add them to meals to increase variety, color, and flavor — and because they’re an easy way to eat more plants.
Do microgreens need to be washed?
Wash microgreens right before eating, not before storing. Washing too early can add moisture and shorten freshness.

Ordering and delivery
Where do you deliver?
We deliver within a 15-mile radius of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. This keeps your greens ultra-fresh and helps us deliver efficiently. (Also keeps me sane!)
Do you offer free delivery?
Yes — free delivery for all deliveries with microgreens! We delivery other vendors products for a small fee, unless you add microgreens. (That's how they get you)
What if I’m outside your delivery radius?
If you’re outside our service area, we may not be able to fulfill delivery. The best move is to contact us before ordering so we can confirm options.
When do you deliver?
I set off at 4pm sharp, getting home around 8 or 9pm. That gives you no context but once you're added to the route the time usually stays consistent.
How fast do I need to refrigerate my microgreens?
As soon as possible. Microgreens stay best when refrigerated promptly. Ideally, leave out a cooler on Friday with an ice pack in it (room temp in winter)
Can I pick up instead of delivery?
Unfortunately no, our physical growing location isn't much of a storefront. you CAN however find us at local Farmers markets like the Perkasie Farmers Market
Do you ship microgreens?
NordicGreens focuses on local delivery to protect freshness. If we ever offer shipping, it means we're really distracted from getting every house in bucks county fed!
Storage and freshness
How do I store microgreens to keep them fresh?
For best results:
- Store in the refrigerator at 35–40°F
- Keep them in the airtight container
- Add a paper towel to absorb excess moisture
- Keep away from ethylene-producing fruits (like apples and bananas)
How long do microgreens last?
When stored properly, microgreens commonly last 2–3 weeks. For peak flavor and texture, many customers use them within about 10 days.
How do I know if microgreens have gone bad?
Avoid microgreens that are:
- Slimy
- Strong off-smell
- Excessively wilted
- Discolored in a way that looks “mushy” or rotten
If something seems off when you receive your order, contact us right away.
Food safety and growing practices
Are your microgreens organic?
We focus on clean, careful growing practices. We promise to never use ANY harmful chemicals or pesticides (because my kids eat these too). No, we are not certified organic, but it is something we want to get!
Do you use pesticides or chemicals?
NordicGreens is positioned as locally grown without pesticides or chemicals (as stated on the website). We keep our process simple and quality-focused.
Are microgreens safe to eat raw?
Microgreens are commonly eaten raw. As with any fresh produce, proper handling and refrigeration matter.
How to use microgreens (recipe-style FAQs)
What can I put microgreens on?
Microgreens are easy to use:
- Salads
- Sandwiches and wraps
- Eggs and omelets
- Soups (add at the end)
- Grain bowls and pasta
- Smoothies or pesto
- Avocado toast
Can I cook microgreens?
You can, but they’re delicate. If you cook them, add them at the very end to preserve color and texture.

Can I buy in person if I don’t want delivery?
Sure thing! We are in the storefront location of Willow Haven Farm, conveniently located in New Tripoli!
I know they're not local to us here in Bucks, so if you're looking for local pick-up, sadly it's gunna be Farmers markets only!
Brand and “what else do you do?”
Is NordicGreens only microgreens?
Microgreens are the core of NordicGreens. The website also includes other offerings (like detailing and 3D printing). If you’re here for microgreens, the best place to start is our shop.
Why do you limit delivery to 15 miles?
Freshness and reliability. Short routes help us deliver quickly, keep product cold, and stay consistent week after week. It's also JUST me doing this, and 15 miles is bigger than I thought as it is!
